This icon of contemporary architecture inaugurated in 2005, is the brainchild of Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Visitors come from all over the world to visit and to listen to its innovative musical programme which ranges from classical to urban trend. It houses 4 resident groups: Symphony Orchestra, Remix Ensemble, Baroque Orchestra and Choir. It plays an important educational role with the promotion of concerts and workshops for schools and families. There are daily guided tours of the building, several bars and a restaurant the rooftop, with a splendid view of the city.
On show days, the Casa da Musica open until the end of the show. Ticket office open until 30 minutes after the beginning of the show. Guided visits in Portuguese: 11:00/16:0; in English: 16:00 . Guided visits in other languages (Spanish, French, Italian and German) require advance booking at www.casadamusica.com.
