The square shows off Bordeaux's inventiveness and that of the teams in charge of the city. Which other city in Europe would dare spend a fairly large budget on equipping a single small square designed for the neighbourhood's children with an amazing botanical green wall?
The wall is the creation of the French artist Patrick Blanc, inventor of the vertical garden. Built in 2005, this garden is full of colour in spring and summer and gives the Square Vinet a relaxing, calm atmosphere right in the centre of Bordeaux and its commercial and tourist activities.
