The colourful houses of the oysters area lie in the beautiful village of L'Herbe, a few minutes by bike from the centre of Cap Ferret. Feel free to lose yourself in the narrow streets of this authentic charming village.
This is a great place to experience the atmosphere and architecture of what were once small fishing villages along the Bay of Arcachon. Do take a look at the Moorish chapel. Built at the request of Léon Lesca after the construction of the Villa Algérienne (and reserved at the time for his family), this Chapel bears the Moorish influence. Observe at the top the symbols of the cross and the crescent.
Beautifully preserved, the Chapelle de la Villa Algérienne is located on the waterfront at the southern end of Boulevard de la Plage.
