Ban Jelacic Square
The heart of Zagreb
Ban Jelačić Square is the central square of Zagreb and it is a pedestrian area. A place where Croats gather for big events (especially major football matches or concerts). This is a central point close to the funicular of Zagreb and the Dolac market.
The statue erected on the square in the past years headed north, towards the Hungarian invaders and is now headed south.
